Aux médias de masse toujours au centre de la communication sociale s?ajoutent désormais les « relations publiques généralisées » ; celles-ci allient à la fois les stratégies de communication de plus en plus complexes des grandes organisations privées et publiques d?une part, et le recours à une gamme élargie de techniques de l?information et de la communication d?autre part. Sous des formes différenciées, cette alliance marque profondément les pays industriels dominants. Approfondissant l?analyse proposée dans le volume i qui présente la communication comme un puissant « activeur » des changements sociaux et culturels contemporains, l?auteur montre que l?avancée de la communication correspond à un double mouvement : le premier a trait à l?industrialisation croissante des activités culturelles, informationnelles et communicationnelles, le second concerne le morcellement de l?espace public contemporain, qui a désormais peu à voir avec l?espace public politique d?argumentation et de débat. Les Tic (techniques de l'information et de la communication) ne sont plus nouvelles. La micro-informatique, la téléphonie mobile, l'internet, les sites web, et les contenus qui leur sont associés, sont maintenant présents dans tous les champs sociaux et dans tous les domaines d'activité, avec des inégalités d'accès et d'utilisation qui ne sont pas prêtes de s'estomper. Leur développement semble répondre à une poussée technologique irrésistible. Les choses, cependant, ne vont pas aussi simplement ; et, aux déterminations techniques, s'ajoutent divers procès sociaux contribuant à leur ancrage dans la société ; sept de ces procès sont au cur du présent ouvrage.Les Tic - en tant qu'innovations sociotechniques - résultent ainsi de dépendances et de déterminations croisées entre l'ordre de la technique et le social. Ce faisant, l'auteur marque ses distances avec certaines approches qui, centrées sur la formation des usages sociaux, et se focalisant presque exclusivement sur les relations (fascination, appropriation, identification, rejet, etc.) des usagers-consommateurs avec les outils, en arrivent à négliger des mouvements essentiels dans la diffusion des Tic. Studieboek over verschillen in cultuur, normen en waarden van uiteenlopende nationaliteiten en de rol die ze spelen b? communicatie. Recensie: Eindelijk een boek over communicatie dat echt communiceert met zijn lezers in die zin dat het toegankelijk geschreven is. Jammer genoeg is de titel van het boek wel wat saai, die doet het boek eigenlijk onrecht aan. Waar gaat het over? Onbewust neem je eigenlijk altijd je eigen norm voor normaal aan. Als je vraagt of iemand iets voor je wilt doen en je krijgt ja als antwoord, dan denk je dat dit geregeld is. Echter in Japan betekent ja slechts: 'ja, ik heb je vraag gehoord' en dan zou het weleens kunnen dat hij of zij helemaal niet iets voor je kan of wil doen. Dan iets minder ver van huis, de Belgen. Je denkt: ze spreken dezelfde taal, dus gedrag en normen zullen ongeveer gelijk zijn aan de Nederlanders. Fout dus. België is jarenlang door de Fransen overheerst geweest en Vlamingen lijken daarom meer op Fransen dan op Nederlanders. Ze zijn bi ...
